On Sunday Nvidia announced their new line of low power consumption processors named Tegra, for which a company spokesperson called a “computers on a chip”. The company apparently has hope of going after Intel with their newest CPU’s, the Tegra 600 and Tegra 650.
It also appears the company has intended this for MIDs (Mobile Internet Devices) but what exactly does MID mean? Well, according to general manager of Nvidia’s mobile business Mike Rayfield “MIDs have screens of four to 12 inches in diameter and may have a touch-screen or keyboard, a connection for a game controller or a wireless high-speed Internet connection.”
Rayfield went on to state that Tegra based MIDs would range in price from $200 to $250 and be available in time for this coming Holiday season.
