Hot on the heels of introducing their Aspire One MiniNotebook at Computex, Acer senior corporate vice president Jim Wong hinted that this might be just the tip of the iceberg as fas as his company is concerned with regards to the Ultramobile sector “We see there’s a huge gap between the amount of Internet users and the number of devices out there. Since the gap is so huge we’re trying to fill that with devices”, this according to NetworkWorld.com.
Acer is said to believe there plenty of room in this Ultraportable PC market for additional incarnations of these devices and hinted at the possibility his company is also interested in producing a true UMPC sometime in the near future “The Aspire one is the biggest size, it is a two-handed device. We’re definitely thinking about a one-handed device”. This is good news for us who love this kind of tech and I think this signals what a lot of people already know.
